Description

Gidlow Hall is a farmhouse dating from the late 16th century, with some rebuilding from the 19th century. It features two datestones: one on the right side reads "IHS/FR/?TG 1574," and the other to the left of the entrance reads "RHL/-1840." The ground floor and part of the first floor are constructed of dressed stone with quoins, while the rest is made of ashlar. The building has two storeys and two bays.

On the ground floor, there is a window with two segmental-headed lights and a larger window, both with label moulds. The first floor has windows with three segmental-headed lights, also featuring label moulds. All windows are fitted with small-paned casements. The entrance includes a plain overlight, and the lintel displays an armorial crest in an oval frame with a label mould.

At the rear, there is a gabled bay with a coped gable and quoins, along with a blocked first-floor window. There is a later brick outshut with a three-light flat-mullioned window on the first floor of the second bay, and a brick and rubble outshut at the end bay. The returns have flat-mullioned windows, some of which on the right return have drip stones. The building features gable end stacks.
