Description

Ainscow's Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse with later alterations. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and has a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high and originally comprised four bays, with the first bay recessed and lower, representing a later addition. The third bay projects. A stone base and quoins are present. The return to the second bay features brick diapering and a blocked three-light mullioned window. The windows are casements, with a small window, possibly a fire window, and a window across the angle to the fourth bay. There are entrances to both the first and second bays; the second bay entrance is within a lean-to porch. Three cross-axial stacks are visible. The interior retains some panelled doors with H-L hinges and a later staircase with turned balusters.
