Description

Ashley Bridge is a road bridge built in the mid-19th century. It features rusticated ashlar and has a single span that is slightly cambered. The bridge includes dropped keystones and a solid parapet above a band. Below the squinches, there is a band running under the bridge. At each end of the bridge, there are domed and pyramidal posts. On the downriver side, the parapet is cut through to provide access to a steel and timber footbridge that runs alongside. Part of this bridge is located in Hale Civil Parish, Trafford, Greater Manchester.
