Description
Nos. 7, 9, 11, and 11A on Midge Hill are three houses and a flat built in the mid to late 18th century. They are constructed from hammer-dressed stone, partly watershot, and feature a graduated stone slate roof with brick chimney stacks. Each house is double-depth and has three storeys, totaling eight bays in length. Nos. 7 and 9 have moulded door surrounds with cornices; No. 7 has a four-panel door with an overlight, while No. 9's door is set within a blocked segmental recess. No. 11 has a square-cut door surround that is obscured by a 20th-century porch. The windows are generally arranged in 2, 4, and 5-light configurations, featuring recessed flat-faced stone mullions. There are five ridge chimney stacks, two-light windows on the right gable, and a Venetian-type attic window. At the rear, doors provide access to the top storeys of Nos. 11A and 9, along with various windows, including 2, 4, and 5-light flat-faced mullion windows, and a blocked 7-light window, as well as a taking-in door with a square-cut surround.
