Description

The Huddersfield Narrow Canal No. 84 Aqueduct, built in 1797, is an aqueduct that spans the River Tame. It was designed by engineer Benjamin Outram and constructed from hammer-dressed stone. The structure features two skew segmental-arch spans, with battered side walls that include two stone bands. On the east side, which serves as the tow-path, there is a parapet wall topped with round-copped stones and finished with square piers. A windlass is located on the west side of the aqueduct. The interior is now lined with concrete.
