Description
Peartree Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with a 20th-century addition at the rear. It features a timber-framed structure with a thatched roof, although most of the walls have been replaced with brick. The layout follows a three-unit baffle-entry plan, with the central room open to the roof and the other rooms having attics. The front has two casement windows in the first bay, with an eyebrow dormer above. The second bay contains a casement window and a door, while the third bay has a horizontally sliding sash window, also with an eyebrow dormer above. The right end of the house has been slightly extended in the 20th century. There is one brick ridge stack, and the rear addition has a flat roof. Inside, the purlins are supported by wind bracing.
