Description

Nos. 303, 305, and 305A on Milnrow Road are two houses built around 1800. They are constructed from watershot stone and have slate roofs. No. 303 is a single-bay, double-depth house with three storeys. No. 305 is a two-bay, double-depth house with a central entrance and three storeys, featuring a three-storey unit to the right that was not used for domestic purposes and has previously served as a shippon on the ground floor. Both houses may have originally been back-to-back cottages.

No. 303 features flat-faced mullion "weaver's windows" with arrangements of 3, 6, and 6 lights. No. 305 has square openings on the ground floor and 10-light windows on the upper floors, although some of these have been partially blocked. Each doorway is framed by square-cut monolithic jambs and lintels. The rear of the buildings also displays similar mullion windows with 3 and 6 lights, stone quoins, and an arched carriage opening with stone voussoirs leading to the end unit.
