Description

Belfield Bridge is a road bridge built between 1794 and 1804, designed by engineer William Jessop. It is constructed of roughly coursed stone and features a skew elliptical arch with a keystone. The bridge has parapet walls above a stone band, which are topped with rounded copings. It is grooved for stop planks and is recognized as one of the earlier skew bridges. A toll house still stands to the east of the bridge, but it is not considered of special interest.
