Description
Clegg Hall Cottages are a group of four cottages, originally eight back-to-back cottages, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. They are constructed from hammer-dressed watershot stone and feature a graduated stone slate roof. Each cottage consists of one bay and three storeys, with quoins and ridge chimney stacks. The front and rear elevations of each cottage include a door with a square-cut surround, and windows on the ground and first floors also have square-cut surrounds. The second floor features flat-faced mullion workshop windows, either with four or six lights. All windows have 20th-century casements. There is an additional door in the left gable and 20th-century window openings in the right gable.
