Description
Nos. 1 and 3 Whittaker Fold are two houses built in the late 18th century or early 19th century. They are constructed from hammer-dressed watershot stone and feature a graduated stone slate roof. Each house is double-depth, has one bay, and stands three storeys tall. The buildings have quoins and doors on the right with square-cut stone surrounds.
No. 1 includes a 4-light recessed flat-faced stone mullion window on each floor, although two of the mullions are missing. No. 3 has a 4-light flat-faced stone mullion window on each floor as well, with a total of five mullions missing. Both houses have ridge and gable chimney stacks, and there is a lean-to addition on the left gable. At the rear, there are four 2-light windows, with two mullions missing. These houses are included for their group value.
