Description
This is an early 19th-century house, situated on the north-east side of Bear Hill in Littleborough. The house is constructed of roughly dressed, watershot stone with a slate roof. It has a single-depth plan with two bays and two storeys. The corners are emphasised by quoins, and the gables have coped verges, kneelers, and gable chimneys. A central door, with a square-cut surround, is flanked by two-light, flat-faced stone mullion windows. A 12-light mullioned workshop window is located on the first floor, with six lights blocked. Four windows are present on the left gable, featuring 20th-century casements with square-cut surrounds. A later brick wing and conservatory extend from the rear of the property. The house is documented in R.W. Brunskill’s book, Houses, published in 1982, on page 65.
