Description
End View Cottage, also known as Brook Cottage, is a late 18th-century building located on Rakewood Road in Littleborough. It is constructed from hammer-dressed watershot stone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The structure consists of five houses arranged in a single and double-depth range, with a total of five bays and three storeys.
The second, third, and fourth bays each have a door with a dressed surround to the right, accompanied by three or five-light recessed flat-faced stone mullion windows with king mullions on each floor. Some of the mullions have been removed, and two windows have been enlarged. The sixth bay, which is of a later date, is set back and has a window on each floor with a square-cut surround and 20th-century casement. The first bay is slightly earlier, set back as well, featuring a segmental-arched cart entry on the ground floor, along with three, five, and five-light windows similar to those in the other bays. Access to the first floor is through a small rear wing. There is a small outshut at the rear, which has similar fenestration. The building also has ridge chimney stacks.
