Description
Brook Cottage and Wall Dene are two houses, likely originally three with workshops, dating from 1725. They are built of squared coursed lias stone and topped with a thatch roof. The buildings have a 4-unit plan, featuring a cross-gabled wing on the left. They are single-storey with an attic and have a five-window range of casements that include glazing bars and wood lintels. There is a blocked entrance to the left. The cross wing displays ashlar gable parapets and kneelers, with brick stacks at the ridge. To the right of the cross wing is a datestone. The east elevation of Wall Dene is similar, featuring a three-window range of eyebrow dormers. There are 19th-century doors at the rear and side. Inside, the ground floor rooms have chamfered ceiling beams.
