Description
Overstone Old Rectory is a building that has been converted from a rectory to a house, with a datestone indicating it was built in 1778. The structure is made of squared coursed lias and features a slate roof. Originally designed with a two-unit plan, it stands two storeys tall with an attic and has a five-window range of sashes with glazing bars on the first floor, all framed by ashlar surrounds and keyblocks.
The central entrance is marked by a 19th-century wooden porch, flanked by two sash windows on the left and a 19th-century canted stone bay on the right. The building has gable parapets and kneelers, along with three hipped dormers and brick stacks at each end. To the right, there is a 19th-century gabled cross wing that features a sash door. A datestone is located above the central first-floor window.
