Description

Ivy House is an early 18th-century house located on Holcot Sywell Road. It is constructed of coursed lias rubble and has a thatched roof. The house was originally in an L-shape, composed of three units with a through passage. The front facade has two floors and two windows, featuring casement windows with leaded lights on the first floor and wood casements on the ground floor, all beneath wooden lintels. A central 19th-century half-glazed door is positioned under a wooden lintel. The gabled roof includes eyebrow dormers, ashlar gable parapets with kneelers, and brick stacks at the ridge and end. The rear of the house is similar, with casement windows containing leaded lights. Attached to the rear are a range of 18th-century barns with 19th-century roofs. The interior includes chamfered ceiling beams in the ground-floor rooms.
