Description
Holly Bush Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the late 17th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble lias and features a thatched roof. The building has an L-shaped plan and stands two storeys high with an attic. The main front elevation consists of a two-window range with two-light casements that have leaded lights on the first floor and wooden casements on the ground floor, all set under wooden lintels. To the right, there is a 19th-century half-glazed door with a blocked window above. The right elevation is similar in style. The gabled roof has ashlar gable parapets and kneelers, with brick and stone stacks at each end. There is a roof dormer on the north side. Attached to the south are 18th-century outbuildings.
Inside, the east room features an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer, while the kitchen has chamfered beams and a wall cupboard with panelled doors, likely from the late 17th century. There is a dogleg stair and some panelled doors with strap hinges. The roof structure is a butt purlin type.
