Description
New Nook is a group of three houses, now used as agricultural buildings, dating from the late 18th century. They are constructed from hammer-dressed watershot stone and feature a graduated stone slate roof. Each house has a double-depth plan with one bay and two storeys. The entrance door is located to the right and has a dressed stone surround. The two left cottages have four-light recessed flat-faced windows on the ground floor and five-light first floor windows with king mullions. The third cottage, added slightly later, has four-light and six-light flat-faced mullion windows. The rear of the buildings includes three and four-light windows and has taking-in doors. There are four ridge chimney stacks, and many rooms still retain stone fire surrounds with impost blocks and coved mantels.
