Description
The Huddersfield Narrow Canal Subway is an early 19th-century structure located beneath the canal after lock 30 West in Saddleworth. It is built of dressed stone and features a semicircular voussoired portal at the north end, leading into a round-arched tunnel. A stone setted footpath runs the length of the tunnel. At the southern end, there is a right-handed integral wingwall with flat rusticated copings that extends alongside the footpath for several yards.
