Description
Nos. 25 and 27 on Spurn Lane are two cottages built in the late 18th century. They are constructed from watershot hammer-dressed stone and topped with a slate roof. Each cottage has a double-depth layout and stands two storeys high. Both feature a 20th-century porch that obscures the doors, which have square-cut stone surrounds. The ground floor windows are two-light, while the first floor has six-light windows, all with recessed flat-faced stone mullions. The cottages also have quoins and a central ridge chimney stack, which is now rendered. At the rear, there are a total of four six-light windows similar to those at the front. These cottages are included for their group value.
