Description
This is a house located at 1 Ward Lane, built in the mid-18th century with later alterations. It is constructed from squared rubble and watershot hammer-dressed stone, topped with a graduated stone slate roof. The building has a single-depth plan featuring four bays and two storeys. The front of the first and second bays was rebuilt in the 19th century and includes more recent windows. In bays three and four, there are five and three-light recessed flat-faced stone mullion windows flanking the doorway. Above these, there are similar two and four-light windows. The rear of the house has various one and two-light windows, two doors with square-cut surrounds (one of which is now blocked), and stone quoins. A gable chimney stack is present.
