Description
New Tame is a house dating from the late 18th century, located on Tame Lane in Saddleworth. It is constructed from hammer-dressed watershot stone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The building has a double-depth plan with one bay and three storeys. The ground floor has quoins, which likely indicate the incorporation of an earlier structure. To the left of the entrance, there is a door with a dressed surround and a keystone lintel. The ground floor has a five-light window, while the first and second floors each have six-light windows, all with recessed flat-faced stone mullions. The house has a gable chimney stack, and the gable features two and four-light windows, along with a taking-in door that has been converted into a window. At the rear, there is a central door with a square-cut surround, flanked by two and three-light windows, and additional six and seven-light windows as previously described.
