Description
New Barn is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed from hammer-dressed watershot stone and features a graduated stone slate roof. The building has two bays and three storeys, with a later single-storey extension at the rear. The front door has a square-cut stone surround and is flanked by two ground floor windows with two and four lights. The first and second floors each have nine-light windows at the front and rear, although one of the upper windows has seven lights that are blocked. All windows are fitted with recessed flat-faced stone mullions, and the upper floors include king mullions. There are two-light windows in the gable and a door at first floor level on the right gable, which is accessed by stone steps. The house has a gable chimney stack.
