Description

The north entrance of the Scout Tunnel on the Huddersfield Narrow Canal is a tunnel entrance constructed between 1794 and 1797, designed by engineer Benjamin Outram. It features hammer-dressed stone and a semi-circular arch made of stone voussoirs, which is currently blocked. The parapet wall is slightly curved and ends with battered square piers. It also includes a stone band and round-topped coping stones.
