Description

SADDLEWORTH CASTLESHAW SD 90 NE 3/33 Wood Barn Farmhouse and - adjoining barn G.V. II Farmhouse and adjoining barn. Mid C18 but with later alterations. Hammer-dressed watershot stone with graduated stone slate roof. Double-depth 2-storey plan with 2 bays and barn to right. Quoins. 3 and 5-light recessed flat-faced stone mullion ground floor windows and 7-light first floor. Gable chimney stacks. 2 and 3-light gable windows. The entrance is adjacent to the house in the adjoining barn: doors at front and rear have chamfered surrounds. The barn has a blocked cart entry and other openings to the gable. The rear displays openings of the earlier date in the form of 2, 3 and 5-light double-chamfered cavetto-moulded windows. Blocked taking-in door.
