Description
12 Mill Bank is a former coach-house and coachman's house to Danebank House, dating from the early 19th century and has undergone significant alterations. The building is constructed of Flemish bond red brick with a grey slate roof and features one brick ridge chimney; the left gable end is rendered. It stands two storeys tall. The front facade includes a basket-arched opening set in a stucco case, complete with plinth padstones and a keystone. Above this opening is a 12-pane recessed sash window, topped by a pediment gable with wooden mouldings. To the left of the entrance, there are two recessed sash windows on each storey. The former carriage doorway on the right has been replaced by a late 20th-century standard bow window, which contains a 12-pane sash and a glazed pitch-hole above. There is also a glazed pitch-hole in the right gable. The rear, left gable end, and the interior of the building have been almost completely renewed. The property is listed for its group value context.
