Description

This milestone, likely from the mid 19th century, is a flat-topped triangular stone with a rounded front corner. It features an Ordnance Survey former benchmark on top. The stone has plain sans-serif incised lettering that reads: "PRESCOT 7 MILES, LIVERPOOL 15 MILES, WARRINGTON 3 MILES." The National Grid Reference is approximate, as the milestone is not marked on current large-scale Ordnance Survey maps.
