3/11 Shippon 25m, north-west of Leadgate Farmhouse

Formerly barn, now shippon and hayloft: early C17 but extensively altered and rebuilt in early C18, early C20 outshut. Upper storey timber-framed with brick nogging, remainder English bond orange brick. Purple-red tile roof. Long, rectangular plan with outshut. East front has central sliding door and a number of blocked entrances with 3-pane windows. Upper storey is of 28 by 2 regular small frames with tension braces. Some panels are open as pitchholes. Gable ends have brick band at 1st floor. Interior: Much altered to a parallel line of stalls. Roof trusses partially survive and show tie beams, collars and queen posts.
