Description
The garden wall and gateway at Burton Hall date from the early 17th century and were built for John Worden, with later repairs. The structure is made of English bond orange brick with buff sandstone dressings. It features a low brick wall set on a stone base, topped with triangular and beaded coping. The wall extends to the southwest and north of the hall, with inserted openings on the south and west sides. At the center of the north side, there is a semi-circular headed moulded stone archway, which includes a keyblock and pendant, along with a flat hood mould above. This archway contains a recent board door that is not of special interest. The wall and gateway are listed for their group value.
