Description
Duddon Lodge is a house built in the early to mid-19th century, with a later addition from the 19th century. It features a stucco exterior and a hipped Welsh slate roof, along with four plastered chimneys. The house has a double-pile plan and a symmetrical two-storey front with three bays. The windows are 12-pane sashes, and the central bay includes a detached Tuscan porch with a flat entablature. Behind the porch is a six-panelled door with marginal lights and a semi-circular fanlight that has radial glazing bars. To the right, there is a recessed addition, while the left side has sashes and a tall semi-circular headed window that provides light to the stairwell. At the rear, the house is three storeys high and features two-light horizontal sliding sashes with glazing bars on the first and second floors. Inside, the entry leads into a hall with a plain baluster stair that has a mahogany handrail and an open string supported by brackets. The interior also includes four-panelled doors set in late Classical doorcases with acanthus detailing in the corners, along with simply moulded ceiling cornices.
