Description
This barn, located 20 meters west of Brown Heath Farmhouse, dates back to the 17th century and is currently being converted into a house. It features a timber frame set on a brick plinth, with some brick repairs. The roof is partly covered with Welsh slate and partly with sheeting. The barn has a rectangular plan and is two stories high with a three-bay north front. The front includes 15 by 3 regular small frames and two large passing braces on either side of a central doorway, above which are four smaller frames. Some of the panels have been converted into openings. The gable ends are made of brick, and the rear wall retains some of its original framing, including the main posts. Inside, the typical timber-framed partition walls contain massive diagonal braces and smaller braces within the truss.
