Description
This barn, located about 30 yards north of The Heath Farmhouse, dates from the 17th century and has been altered in the early 19th century and mid-20th century. It is timber-framed with painted brick infill on a rubble base, and is partly weatherboarded with a corrugated metal roof. The barn features three framed bays aligned east to west, with a central wagon bay that has opposed cart entries and double doors. The framing consists of three rows of square panels extending from the sill to the wall-plate. An additional rubble bay is attached to the west end. The structure has two levels and includes a partly-glazed door on the south elevation, as well as an 8-pane window with a timber lintel and a square attic light in the west gable end. To the north-west, there is a rubble lean-to outshut with a slate roof. A partly rendered rubble single-storey wing is attached to the south-west, featuring a small square lantern on the roof ridge and 20th-century casement windows.
