Description
This is an L-shaped farm building located 30 meters east of Ivy Bank Farmhouse. It dates from the early 18th century and has undergone alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of irregular bond orange brick and features a Welsh slate roof.
The north front of the south range, which was formerly a threshing barn, includes a large pair of wooden doors beneath a wooden lintel, along with two ground floor openings that have segmental brick heads and square pitchholes above. There are also some blocked vertical ventilation slots. The lower east range, which served as a former shippon and hayloft, has a west front with a large opening under a wooden lintel and a flight of external steps leading to a first floor that features two square pitchholes and a line of ventilation slots above. The building is listed for its group value only.
