Description
The building north of Wiserley Hall Farmhouse is a farm structure that includes a byre, loose boxes, and cart sheds with lofts above. It dates from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. The construction features coursed sandstone rubble with a boulder plinth, and the roofs are made of stone flags, asbestos sheet, and Welsh slate.
This long, two-storey range consists of three sections, each with two bays, totaling six bays overall, along with a one-storey, one-bay pent extension on the left. The first section on the right has an oak lintel over the doorway, which has wide-chamfered stone jambs, and a sliding door behind it. There is also an early segmental stone arch on the left, partly boarded, with a central door that has an overlight with glazing bars. The first floor features two small square openings and slit vents.
The slightly taller second section in the center has a similarly-arched open entrance on the right, a wood lintel over a small light, and a Dutch door on the left. Above, there are two small square lights, one boarded and the other with fixed lights, both having stone lintels. The left end of the building is slightly higher again, featuring wood lintels over a partly-glazed door and a boarded door, with a blank space above. The pent extension has a similar door.
