Description
The L-shaped ranges of farm buildings, located 60 meters north of Shotwick Hall, date from the early 18th century and early 19th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. They are constructed from orange brick in English and English garden wall bond, with a roof primarily made of corrugated asbestos and partly of Welsh slate.
The north-west range serves as a threshing barn, featuring a central pair of large board doors with a smaller door to the left, and a line of ventilation slots above. There is also a large inserted opening at the rear. Inside, there is a stone flagged threshing floor and one truss with a tiebeam and diagonal struts, along with wavy purlins.
The north-east range functions as a shippon and hayloft, containing a mixture of inserted doors and three-pane openings below, along with a line of four circular pitch holes and ventilation slots above.
This building is listed for its group value only.
