Description

No. 11, Moss Brow is a house that originally formed part of a farmhouse, dating to the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The exterior is built of coursed, squared buff sandstone rubble with a roof of Kerridge stone-slates, a stone ridge, and one stone chimney. The house has a two-gabled front and comprises two storeys. The ground floor features bow windows with three-light casement windows above, all set beneath plain stone lintels. Projecting rubble bonds are visible at both the first and second floor levels. The front door is located in the extreme right-hand side, within a simple stone surround. The gables, likely added in the mid-19th century, are stone-coped and have kneelers and blocked rectangular window openings. At the rear, there are two windows with two-light, square-sectioned stone mullions. It is an addition to the original house, No. 9 Moss Brow.
