Description
The Cock and Pheasant Inn is a former house that has been converted into a public house, dated 1753, with mid-19th century alterations. It is constructed of Flemish bond red-brick, featuring some yellow headers, and has a Kerridge stone-slate roof with a stone ridge and two brick chimneys. The building has a double pile plan and is two stories tall with a symmetrical three-bay front. The windows are 16-pane sashes set under rough brick segmental heads. A half-glazed door is located behind a gabled brick porch, and a date tablet above the door reads TMP 1753. At the rear, there is a semi-circular headed window with fixed iron small panes that lights the stairs. Inside, some exposed chamfered beams can be seen, along with indications of hoods over gable fireplaces. There is a 20th-century brick extension to the left, which is not of special interest.
