Description

This early 17th-century house, now shops, is located on King Street, Knutsford. It has a timber-frame construction with brick panel infill and a roughcast render to the street frontage, topped by a Welsh slate roof. The house comprises a main range and a cross wing, with an additional rear wing likely added in the 19th century. The building is two storeys high and features two late 19th-century shop fronts on the ground floor. Each shop front originally had a central entrance, though one has been replaced with a window, both being supported by console brackets. The upper windows have been renewed and enlarged. Despite these changes to the openings, significant amounts of the original square panelled timber-framing appear to remain. The interior has not been inspected.
