Description
31 and 33 King Street is a house that has been converted into two shops with offices above. It dates from the late 18th century and has undergone later alterations and restorations. The building is constructed of brick and features a slate and stone-flagged roof. It stands three storeys high and has a three-window range, with a prominent pedimented central bay above the entrance. The central entrance has been renewed and is set in a round archway, complete with a traceried fanlight above the doorway. On either side of the entrance are inserted 20th-century shop fronts, with the one at No. 31 being renewed in a traditional 19th-century style. Above the shop fronts, there are four-pane sash windows on each floor, with cambered brick heads on the first floor. The central first-floor window has a flat-arched gauged brick head with a keystone. A stack is located on the right-hand gable. The interior has not been inspected.
