Description
Hack Green Lock Number 2, located north of Hack Green Bridge on the Shropshire Union Canal, is a canal lock built around 1826, attributed to the consultant Thomas Telford. The structure features blue brick in English Bond and sandstone, with metal and wooden gates. The upper gate is made of metal with a wooden beam, while the lower gates are entirely wooden. The approach walls have heavy sandstone dressing, although the lock-side copings have mostly been replaced with concrete blocks.
