Description

Baddington Bank Farm House is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, although it has the appearance of the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick and has a roof covered with small slates. The building is two storeys high with an attic and features an "L"-shaped plan with three bays. The windows are two-and-three-light flush casements with stone sills and cambered arches. The central attic window is located in a gabled dormer that has barge boards.

At the front, there is a projecting brick porch with a semi-circular arched chamfered opening and small side openings. The porch has a pitched tiled roof and leads to a heavy door frame, which is externally lined and contains a four-panel half-glazed door with bolection moulded lower panels. A projecting brick band runs along the first floor level, and there are barge boards on the gables along with gable-end stacks.

Inside, the farmhouse features bevelled beams, wide-boarded oak doors on strap hinges, and a wide oak staircase with splat balusters. The interior also includes softwood panelled wainscoting and bead and flush four-panel doors. On the first floor, there are bevelled beams, exposed joists, wainscoting on the landing, and four-panel doors with sunk panels. The attic has exposed purlins and rafters framed without a ridge, along with oak dowelled door frames and four-panel doors set within wide door cases.
