Description
Edleston Bridge Number 89 is an accommodation bridge on the Shropshire Union Canal Main Line, built around 1826, with consultant Thomas Telford involved in its design. The bridge is constructed from blue bricks in English Bond and features stonework. It has a one-brick deep elliptical arch and a projecting stone band at track level. There are cast iron rubbing posts at the angles, blue paving, and concrete edge kerbs along the towpath. The approach walls are splayed, and the bridge has rounded parapet coping with four-way rounded caps on the end piers.
