Description

This is a parish boundary stone, dated 1822, located on Windyway Road in Rainow. It is a semi-circular headed block made of sandstone, featuring a well-cut inscription "M 1822" on the north face, which stands for Macclesfield. There are a total of five boundary stones marking the borders of Macclesfield, two of which are with Rainow and three with Macclesfield Forest.
