Description

The parish boundary stone, dated 1849, is an equilateral triangular sectioned sandstone block with a domed top. The north face features a well-curved "H" for Hurdsfield, along with the date 1849. The south-east face displays an "R" for Rainow and the date 1849, while the west face shows an "M" for Macclesfield and the date 1849. Similar stones from the same period can be found in Hurdsfield and Macclesfield Forest. Part of this stone is located in Rainow and the former Macclesfield Urban District.
