Description

Mile House is a house dating from the late 18th century, with later additions. It is built of coursed and squared stone and features a stone-flagged roof. The house has two storeys and originally had a two-unit plan, but it has been extended to form a three-window range. The main entrance is located in the gable end facing the street and consists of a panelled door set within a moulded architrave. There is a secondary door in the added unit, which may have been used as a separate dwelling. The windows are three-light casements with transoms on the ground floor, and there are stacks at the end walls.
