Description

Cesterbridge Cottage, originally three weaver’s cottages and now two houses, was built in the early 19th century. The construction is of coursed squared buff sandstone rubble with a Kerridge stone-slate roof, a stone ridge, and three stone chimneys. The front is six bays, arranged over three storeys. There are doors in the left bay of the two cottages, one of which has been blocked, each set under a plain stone lintel. The lower two storeys have windows consisting of two 16-pane sashes and four 4-pane sashes, all under rough stone lintels. The weaving lofts have three-light casement windows; two have glazing bars and one does not.
