Description
Tower Hill Cottage is a 17th-century cottage with a later 17th-century addition and 20th-century additions to one side and rear. It is constructed of coursed squared buff sandstone rubble, with a Kerridge stone-slate roof and three stone chimneys. Originally a one-room gable-entry cottage, it is now L-shaped. The north gable features a two-light chamfered stone mullion window; remaining windows are 20th century but retain some original surrounds. The interior contains a semi-hexagonal heck post and a roughly chamfered fire beam and ceiling beams. A timber-framed partition wall is present in the 17th-century extension, and the roof structure is original.
