Description
The Old Vicarage is a former vicarage now used as a house, with origins dating back to 1732. The main structure was developed in the early 19th century, with the roof raised and an addition made to the right in the mid-19th century, followed by further alterations in 1948. It is constructed of coursed squared buff sandstone rubble and features a Kerridge stone-slate roof, stone ridge, and two stone chimneys.
The building is 2½ storeys tall with a four-bay front. The original house includes 12-pane sash windows in the end bays, with 16-pane sashes above. The central entrance has a semi-circular headed doorcase with a fanlight featuring radial glazing bars and a six-panelled door. Above the entrance is a single light with glazing bars and a shaped triangular top set in an ashlar surround. The additions to the side end of the upper storey also have 16-pane sashes, located in gabled half dormers. Inside, little remains apart from some simple six-panelled doors.
