Description
The stables at Kerridge End House were built in 1837 for John Mellor. They are constructed from coursed squared buff sandstone rubble and feature a Kerridge stone-slate roof with a stone ridge. The building is two stories high with a four-bay front and has rusticated quoins. On the ground floor, there are two doors with simple architraves (one of which is blocked) and two semi-circular windows that have fixed small-pane glazing. Above, there are two circular pitch-holes with ashlar surrounds, which carry hinged wooden shutters and contain half-opening small-pane glazing. The stables are listed for their group value only.
