Description

This parish boundary stone, dated 1789, is located 110 meters northeast of Trugs Cottage on Alderley Road. It is made of buff sandstone and has a rectangular shape with a curved top. The visible face features the letter "M" for Macclesfield and the year "1789" carved in well-cut seriffed letters, although the stone is leaning. The opposite face appears to have exfoliated. This stone is part of the former Macclesfield Urban District.
