Description

This is a parish boundary stone dated 1849, made of buff sandstone. The stone is triangular in section and has a domed top. On the south face, it features a well-cut "M" for Macclesfield and "1849." The north-west face displays an "F" for Fallibroome and "1849." The north-east face is partly weathered, but it retains the date and likely originally had a "P" for Prestbury. This stone is part of a series of boundary stones established around Macclesfield during this period, with some of it located in the former urban district.
